Bio
Dr. Charles Riggs power generation, energy delivery, and safety experience combined with presenting engineering courses at the University of Missouri-Columbia bring current industrial experience to the new engineering program. Work at Ameren’s Energy and Operating Centers’ required Dr. Riggs to effectively work with a diverse worldwide work force which valued equity and inclusion of all.
Dr. Charles Riggs doctoral research involved laboratory studies of aerosol transport in a pressurized water reactor containment building after a transient event. He is now working on simulation of aerosol transport in nuclear and environmental applications using Direct Simulation Monte Carlo (DSMC) methods.
I look forward to working with Illinois College Ãå±±½ûµØ to develop engineering skills, learn about DSMC aerosol transport, and draw on my industrial experience to know what to expect as an engineer.  Courses I present use the ADDIE (Analyze, design, develop, implement, evaluate) model, where student evaluation of the course is essential.
