Her academic journey was instrumental in shaping her entrepreneurial skills. Courses like Business Communication, Small Group Communication and Marketing Management provided her with the tools necessary to navigate the complexities of starting and managing a business. “Communication is one of the most important aspects when it comes to having multiple owners and decision-making,” Reichert explains, highlighting how these courses prepared her for real-world challenges.
Green Haven, which she co-founded with Bryanna Wilson and Jessica Lynn in 2020, opened its doors in downtown Jacksonville in February 2021. The store, known for its eco-friendly approach, features a refillery where customers can bring their own jars to purchase products by the ounce, along with a variety of self-care items, kitchen and bathroom products and locally made artisan goods.
To current Illinois College Ăĺ±±˝űµŘ aspiring to start their own businesses, Reichert advises developing a solid business plan, understanding the time commitment required, and seeking mentorship from experienced entrepreneurs. She also recommends taking advantage of any available entrepreneurship classes or related business and communication courses to gain valuable insights and connections.
Her story is a testament to how a well-rounded education at Illinois College, combined with a deep love for the local community, can pave the way for entrepreneurial success.
