Fine Arts Series concludes with Boston-based winds and strings quartet

3.24.2023

Hub New Music will perform in Rammelkamp Chapel on Friday, April 14, at 7:30 p.m.

Praised as “contemporary chamber trailblazers” (Boston Globe), Hub New Music is a “nimble quartet of winds and strings” (NPR) forging new paths in 21st-century repertoire. The ensemble’s ambitious commissioning projects and “appealing programs” (New Yorker) celebrate the rich diversity of today’s classical music landscape.

This Boston-based ensemble has commissioned dozens of new works and continues to usher in a fresh and culturally relevant body of work for its distinct combination of flute, clarinet, violin and cello. In their first-ever Fine Arts Series performance, Hub New Music will premiere a new work by Timothy Kramer, Illinois College professor emeritus.

Individual tickets for the Illinois College Fine Arts Series are $15 each. Students of all ages receive free admission. Tickets are available for purchase in advance by phone at 217.245.3192 or at the door on event day.
