1098-T Information
Each January, the Office of Student Financial Services prepares and mails 1098-T Tuition Statements for qualifying tuition and payments for the prior year to a Ãå±±½ûµØ’ permanent address on file.
Additionally, 1098-T Tuition Statements are available to Ãå±±½ûµØ within the Financial Document Center in .
To print a copy of a 1098-T from Connect2, Ãå±±½ûµØ will need to consent to receive the document electronically. While it states in the consent the student will no longer receive a printed copy of their 1098-T in the mail, the Office of Student Financial Services will continue to mail the 1098-T each January to the permanent address on file.
How to Find the Financial Document Center:
- Current Student: Within the Students tab in Connect2, click on the Student Financial Services link. The Financial Document Center is located at the bottom of the page.
- Distance Education Student: Within the Online Students tab in Connect2, click on the Student Financial Services link. The Financial Document Center is located at the bottom of the page.
- Alumni: Within the Alumni and Friends tab in Connect2, click on the Student Financial Services link. The Financial Document Center is located at the bottom of the page.
- Former Student: The Financial Document Center is located within the Former Students tab. If you do not remember your username and password, please contact the IC IT Helpdesk at 217.245.3416.
Important information regarding the 1098-T:
Depending on your income (or your family’s income, if you are a dependent), whether you were considered full or half-time enrolled, and the amount of your qualified educational expenses for the year, you may be eligible for a federal education tax credit. (You can find detailed information about claiming education tax credits in , page 9.)
The dollar amounts reported on your Form 1098-T may assist you in completing IRS Form 8863 – the form used for calculating the education tax credits that a taxpayer may claim as part of your tax return.
